Morecambe manager Sammy McIlroy has said signing a striker will be his top priority during the summer.
McIlroy is keen to replace Rene Howe after the 22-year-old returned to Peterborough this week following a season-long loan deal at Christie Park.
"The nucleus is already here but we need that extra cutting edge," he told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"Rene did well for us and led the line well. He's strong and quick but we won't be taking that any further."
McIlroy would prefer to buy rather than bring players in on loan but he will consider every option nearer the time.
"I like to get players in who are my players and then if we have a little bit of a crisis you can go into the loan market," he said.
