Morecambe assistant manager Mark Lillis admitted he was 'gutted' not to get a coaching role at Hull City, but said he is happy to continue at Christie Park.
Lillis was headhunted and interviewed for the position which went to Trevor Morgan, a former team-mate of Tigers boss Phil Brown from his Bolton days.
"On Monday I was gutted but, Tuesday, I woke up and you're still in work.
"I spoke to people at Morecambe and got stuck into work. That's life," Lillis told BBC Radio Lancashire.
"I'm still very happy to stay at Morecambe. I really enjoy it here.
"It's been the biggest challenge of my coaching career to get the club into the Football League.

"To get an approach from the Premier League is a boost to my confidence.
"I always say to players that they should want to play at the highest level and it's the same as a coach," added Lillis.
During the interview process, Lillis was shown around the training ground and admitted he had set his heart on a move to the KC Stadium.
"Sammy McIlroy was disappointed when I rang him and told him there'd been an approach from Hull.
"But when I told him on Monday it wasn't going to be he did have a little smile and we've just got on with it.
