Callum Davidson has started all three games for Preston this season

Preston have confirmed Callum Davidson's injury is not serious and the full-back is yet to be ruled out of Saturday's trip to Sheffield Wednesday.

Davidson limped out of the win over Crystal Palace after twisting his knee and withdrew from the Scotland squad to face Northern Ireland on Wednesday.

But scans have revealed he has only strained ligaments and will be sidelined for days rather than weeks.

Matt Hill remains on stand-by should Davidson fail to recover in time.
