Swailes started 47 games in 2007/08 but only twice last term
MK Dons defender Danny Swailes has signed a new six-month deal.
The 30-year-old has been with the Milton Keynes side for two seasons but has not played since 16 August 2008 because of an Achilles injury.
The former Bury and Macclesfield centre-back was out of contract at Stadium MK this summer.
He told the club website: "I can't wait to get back, I've waited a long time to play a game of football and hopefully that'll be at the start of the season."
