Middlesbrough boss Gordon Strachan has ruled out deals for Mirko Pieri and Jackson Mendy following Wednesday's 2-0 win against Sachsen Leipzig.
The pair, both left-backs, were handed 45 minutes apiece in the friendly but Strachan has opted not to continue his interest in either player.
"We don't think we'll be taking either of them," he told the club website.
Pieri, 32, is an Italian defender from Livorno, while Mendy, 24, is a French-Senegalese from German side Freiburg.
Middlesbrough currently have left-back cover in the shape of Andrew Taylor, Jonathan Grounds and Joe Bennett.
