Chris Taylor hit an unbeaten 83 to help Gloucestershire to a 65-run victory over Yorkshire in the Clydesdale Bank 40 at Cheltenham. Alex Gidman hit 64 with James Franklin and Hamish Marshall both making 42 as the home side racked up 294-6. Anthony Ireland and Jon Lewis then helped reduce the Tykes to 73-5. Adam Lyth (84) and Tim Bresnan (58) fought back, but when they fell Richard Dawson (3-41) mopped up the tail to see Yorkshire bowled out for 229. The defeat is Yorkshire's first of the season and sees Gloucestershire join them on 10 points at the top of Group B.
Gloucestershire captain Alex Gidman told BBC Radio Gloucestershire: "I'm delighted with the the way everyone played and applied themselves, I don't think anyone had a poor game. "We identified very early on in this competition how important the last ten overs are as opposed to the first ten. "We're trying to keep as many wickets in hand as possible. If you do that, it means you have a couple of partnerships on the way."
