Young was disappointed to lose to rivals Sunderland (PA)
Middlesbrough defender Luke Young believes the team needs to lose their naivety after slipping to defeat in the derby with Sunderland on Saturday.
"Results wise you could say we're a soft touch," he told BBC Tees.
"In the dressing room we're all hurting but it's no good saying we tried hard, we need to pick up points and wins.
"It sums us up to let them back in the game. When we score we need to see things out for 10 minutes, slow the game down and frustrate teams."
With two games left to play the Teessiders need to take at least three points to secure their Premier League status and Young has urged his team-mates to finish strongly.

"We've got to pick ourselves up straight away and be strong as a side and a squad," he said.
"We didn't want it to go this far, we wanted to push on and win the mini-league at the bottom.
"We can't do that now so we've got to make sure we stay in this division."
