Middlesbrough defender Luke Young has admitted he is expecting some flak from the Tottenham supporters when he runs out at White Hart Lane on Saturday.
Young, 28, began his career with Spurs and was a boyhood fan but is resigned to receiving abuse this weekend.
"I used to get a good reception when I first went back," he told BBC Tees.
"Now I get a good reception for about three minutes. If I take throw-ins I get a little bit of stick and then it turns sour. Especially if we score."
Ironically when the two teams met in the corresponding fixture at the Riverside, it was the Harlow-born England international who slammed home a thunderous equaliser to earn the Teessiders a 1-1 draw.
"When it flew in I thought 'that's the goal of my life' and I probably won't get another one like it," he laughed.
"I think it was the importance of the goal more than anything. We had come off the back of a bad run of games and needed something out of the game.
"We went in at half-time trailing and it was all doom and gloom. To get a point in that game gave us a platform to build on so it was pleasing for me to get that goal."
