Mansfield Town new signing Paul Connor netted twice as the Stags won 4-2 at Buxton in a pre-season friendly.

The striker, who left Lincoln in May, only joined the club on Thursday as a fans group, the 12th Stag, donated £3,000 to contribute to his wages.

Manager David Holdsworth fielded a full-strength team against the side from the Northern Premier League.

Louis Briscoe and Steve Foster were also on target for the Stags, who still have two pre-season games remaining.

Mansfield travel to Hucknall on Monday and Alfreton on Saturday.
