Connor also played for Cheltenham Town, Rochdale and Swansea
Mansfield Town have signed former Lincoln City striker Paul Connor on a one-year deal.
A fans' group have donated £3,000 which contributes towards the wages of the 31-year-old, who left Lincoln in May.
Connor told the club's website: "It's great that the 12th Stag have been able to contribute and it's nice to think that the fans want you here."
He has scored 71 goals in 342 Football League games and last played in the Conference with Gateshead in 1997.
Stags boss David Holdsworth thanked the 12th Stag for their contribution: "They are a great benefit to us and we are extremely grateful for their support.
"It is a generous way of supporting your football club and the fans now know where their contribution is going - which is important."
Paul Nyland of the 12th Stag added: "We are very excited to be able to contribute to Paul Connor's wages, especially at such an early stage after the 12th Stag's creation."
