Great Britain duo Dai Greene and Rhys Williams both qualified for Saturday's European Championships 400m hurdles final but Nathan Woodward missed out. In the men's 200m British pair Christian Malcolm and Marlon Devonish also made it through to Friday's final. Michael Rimmer was also comfortably through to the final in the 800m after easily winning his semi on Thursday. And 10,000m heroes Mo Farah and Chris Thompson are both safely through to the final after their 5,000m semis. Thompson, who won silver in the 10,000m on Tuesday, came fourth in his heat in a time of 13 minutes 35.58 seconds while 10,000m champion Farah won his heat in 13.38.27. "I enjoyed that a lot," Thompson told BBC Sport. "I came into this believing in my fitness. The rain meant I could enjoy it more and relax. Welshman Greene cruised through his heat in a time of 49.49 and along with compatriot Williams (49.61) will hope to add more medals to Great Britain's tally in Barcelona. "I'm happy to have a day off and am looking forward to Saturday," admitted Greene. Williams added: "I'm through to the final. That was the main aim. I'm here for the gold and I can't wait to get out there." Christophe Lemaitre, who won the 100m title on Wednesday, qualified quickest for Friday's 200m final with a time of 20.39. Highlights - men's 100m final The Frenchman stormed to victory in his heat and is a good bet for gold, but the other two medals look up for grabs. British duo Malcolm (20.58) and Devonish (20.55) will hope to be among the medals and are in confident mood. "I didn't execute the start but I think I qualified quite comfortably. I'll come out with all guns blazing on Friday," said Devonish. Malcolm added: "I got a good start, but I wasn't too pleased with the straight. I'm qualified and there is more to come." GB pair Andy Turner and Will Sharman also both qualified for the semi-finals of the men's 110m hurdles. Turner, ranked third in Europe in 2010, won his heat in 13.48 seconds after European champion Stanislav Olijar had been disqualified for a false start. Brit duo into hurdles semi-finals Sharman, who beat Turner in the trials, finished third in his heat in 13.60. Turner feared he could also have been disqualified for a false start when Olijar prematurely leapt out of his blocks. "I felt a little bit scared when I saw the red marker next to my name," said the 29-year-old from Nottingham. "I'd reacted off Olijar, he'd false started and then I went, but it's been known for them to disqualify two people. "But luckily I maintained my composure and just did what I had to do. Sharman was glad to get through after an unconvincing display. "I hit the second hurdle and that affected my acceleration but I managed to hang on to what I had," he said. Southport's Rimmer qualified quickest for Saturday's final and will also hope to be in the mix for medals in the 800m.
