Mansfield Town midfielder Neil MacKenzie says he is glad to be back at Field Mill after leaving Notts County.
The 32-year-old, who previously spent more than two years with the Stags, almost joined Burton Albion this week.
MacKenzie told BBC Radio Nottingham: "Once Mansfield called up and were more positive about offering me something it was an easy decision to make.
"I was training at Burton last week but their gaffer (Roy McFarland) was playing it a bit cagily."
MacKenzie says he had no choice but to leave Notts County last week.

He said: "Rather than me driving into training every day with nothing at the end of the week, it was best for both parties for me to go.
"It was all amicable and I've left on good terms."
