Duffy was sixth top scorer in the Conference in 2006/07 with 18 goals
New Mansfield Town strikers Louis Briscoe and Rob Duffy are hoping to make an immediate impact at the club.
The pair signed last week and could make their debuts against Crawley on Saturday at Field Mill.
Duffy told BBC Radio Nottingham: "There is nothing better than getting off the mark on your debut. Hopefully that will happen. If not, we'll keep trying."
Briscoe added: "I think it was a blessing that we didn't play last week as it's given us more time to gel."
Briscoe followed David Holdsworth to Mansfield from Ilkeston and holds his boss in high regard.
He said: "He's a modern manager but is very disciplined as well. He mixes the two quite well."
Welshman Duffy is a former Oxford player who has more recently played under Holdsworth's twin brother Dean at Newport County.
The 26-year-old is keen to get his name on the scoresheet as quickly as possible: "As a forward you should be getting the bulk of the goals in the team but I think it is a team job overall for everybody to chip in as well."
