Simpson has landed his first Football League managerial role
Macclesfield have named caretaker boss Gary Simpson as their permanent manager for the next two seasons.
The 50-year-old took over in March following the death of Keith Alexander.
Simpson, who has led the League Two side to 18 points from his 10 games in charge, was Alexander's assistant at Lincoln and the Silkmen.
Chairman Mike Rance told the club website: "Gary has been able to keep the squad focussed and the results speak for themselves."
He continued: "We believe Keith and Gary have assembled a promising young squad and it's absolutely appropriate that Gary is given the chance to build on that."
Simpson said: "I would like to thank the club for showing faith in me and giving me the opportunity to follow in Keith's footsteps."
