Exeter City striker Steve Basham is set to complete a deal to join Blue Square Premier outfit Luton Town.

The 31-year-old former Oxford forward played in a friendly game for the Hatters on Saturday and is excited to be making the move permanent.

"It's going to be great to be a part of it," Basham, who was released by the U's in 2007, told BBC Oxford.

"There are a lot of expectations, but we had that with Oxford and Exeter, so hopefully we can deal with that."

Basham intends to relocate to Oxfordshire following the completion of the move to Kenilworth Road and is currently staying with former U's winger Andy Burgess.

"I will be staying at Burge's for a bit. It will be a little while until we get back into the house in Oxford, so at the moment he has a lodger."

Basham scored 43 league goals for Oxford in 139 starts after being signed from Preston in 2002.

In his two seasons at Exeter he has racked up a total of seven goals in 27 starts.
