Livi hoping to lift transfer ban
Vivien Kyles welcomes new manager Mark Proctor to Almondvale

Livingston chief executive Vivien Kyles believes that the Scottish Football League ban on the club dealing in the transfer market will be lifted quickly.

It looks likely that the First Division outfit will lodge an appeal.

"We are currently reviewing what the options and alternatives are to Livingston," she said. "We have until Monday before we have to appeal it.

"I am in discussions with various people about how we could come to a resolution on the matter."

The Scottish Football League put the ban in place over Livingston's pay-off dispute with former defender Manu Dorado.

An appeal is possible to the Scottish Football Association and Kyles is confident that the dispute will be resolved.

New manager Mark Proctor was officially unveiled on Wednesday and insisted that the problems did not enter his mind when accepting the position.
The last thing I want to do is to come to this football club and find I can't recruit anyone

"I obviously realise that needs resolving and I hope it's resolved very quickly," he said.

"I think we lost an appeal on Monday and the club are looking at alternative proposals to get the thing resolved.

"The last thing I want to do is to come to this football club and find I can't recruit anyone.

"How it's resolved, I can't give you that answer."

Proctor also insisted that chairman Pearse Flynn's record of having gone through five managers in three years is not a worry.

But the Englishman admits that he will have to produce results to avoid facing a similar fate.

"Someone has said we have had eight managers in four years," said Proctor.

"That's probably because the thing has not been going particularly well and that's why I'm here.

"I am not daft enough not to realise, if we don't get results and the wheels don't move, that I will be out of a job.

"I have every confidence I can do that, given a break or two.

"My dealings with Pearse have been very productive.

"He seems like a genuine guy who wants the club to move forward and wants to be successful."
