Dorado is in dispute with his former club Livingston over payments |
Livingston have been banned from signing new players until a dispute over payments to their former defender Emmanuel Dorado is resolved. The Scottish Football League's management committee placed a transfer embargo on the West Lothian club and fined them 5,000 last month.
During a meeting of 30 clubs on Monday, Livingston's appeal was rejected.
Frenchman Dorado, 34, was axed last summer after refusing a pay cut following Livingston's relegation.
The SFA and the SFL decided that the club had broken the player's contract.
They indicated that the club owed Dorado for the remainder of his contract.
But the Scottish players' union complained to the SFL, saying that the matter had not been resolved to the player's satisfaction.
And it decided that the signing ban should last until Dorado received the payments due to him.
