Kerr is looking forward to a sixth season with Lincoln City
Lincoln club captain Scott Kerr says next season will be a failure if they do not make the play-offs.
The Imps finished just three places and six points above the League Two relegation zone last season.
The 29-year-old told BBC Look North: "If you look at the side we've got now, we've got pace and some exciting players with a lot skill and talent.
"Without being overconfident we have to finish top seven - if we don't, we won't be doing our job right."
The Imps' longest serving player thinks it is a massive year for manager Chris Sutton: "It's his first full season in management with Ian [Pearce, assistant] and they want to succeed.
"They played at the top level and I'm sure one day they want to manage at the top level."
