Lincoln City captain Scott Kerr will not face a one-match ban despite picking up his fifth yellow card of the in the Imps' FA Cup tie at Bolton.
City had expected Kerr to miss their League Two game at Accrington on Saturday because of the suspension.
But regulations introduced this season by the Football League brought the yellow card amnesty date forward from the end of February to 31 December.
It means Kerr's previous four cautions no longer count towards his total.
