Clark plays down manager job link

Lincoln City caretaker manager Simon Clark has distanced himself from speculation linking him to the vacant manager's job at Sincil Bank.

Clark is thought to have been on the Imps board's shortlist of candidates to be given second interviews.

But he told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "I believe they're doing the interviews this week, and good luck to them.

"I speak to members of the board every day but at the minute my job is to get the players ready for Saturday."

Clark has been in temporary charge since Peter Jackson's dismissal at the start of September.

Other names linked with the manager's job at Sincil Bank include ex-Nottingham Forest reserve team manager John Pemberton and former Cambridge boss Gary Brabin.

It is believed Lincoln will officially announce their new manager ahead of Tuesday's match at home to Notts County.
