Imps face midfield injury crisis

Lincoln City could be without three key midfielders for Saturday's home match against Burton Albion at Sincil Bank.

Captain Scott Kerr went off at half-time in Tuesday's win at Bradford with a recurrence of a back problem.

Richard Butcher missed the game with a knee injury while Stefan Oakes suffered a foot wound which required stitches.

Manager Peter Jackson told BBC Radio Lincolnshire: "We'll assess them but it could be as late as Saturday that I can name my side to face Burton."

The Imps could also go into the game without striker Paul Connor (thigh strain) and full-backs Cian Hughton, who picked up a knock at Valley Parade and Joe Heath who missed the match with a hip injury.

Jackson said: "I've always said you have to be lucky with suspensions and injuries and we've got a lot at the moment.

"I could have six players missing at the weekend but that could open the door for some of the youngsters at the club."
