Wright said: "I'm pleased to have put pen to paper and got the issue put to bed, and pleased that Peter's in the driving seat for the next two seasons.
"I don't think [the delay] has done any damage at all, but we are getting to the latter stages of re-negotiating with players over their contracts for next season and it's important that they're clear as to who'll be in charge."
Jackson added: "I think it gives more security, when you think that around 30 managers have lost their jobs since the start of the season.
"They've backed me here and that's what a club like Lincoln needs.
"They don't need to sack the manager every 12 months, they need stability and hopefully I can bring that to the club and move it forward."
