Jackson has been in charge at Lincoln for just over a year

Lincoln City have cancelled a news conference at which it was expected that manager Peter Jackson was going to confirm he had signed a new contract.

The club had planned to reveal details at Sincil Bank on Wednesday afternoon, while giving news of two City players signing new contracts.

Following Tuesday's shock FA Cup defeat by Kettering, it was felt to be at an inappropriate time.

Officials stressed that nothing more should be read into the decision.
