Marriott angry after Lincoln exit

Long-serving Lincoln City goalkeeper Alan Marriott admits he feels angry after being released.

Marriott is one of four out-of-contract players not to be offered a new deal.

"It makes you a bit angry when you sit there and think you have given the club nine years," the 29-year-old told BBC Radio Lincolnshire.

"They just said they wanted someone with a bit more stature and presence. That is not something I can work on. I am not a six foot six 14-stone keeper".

Marriott had played just short of 400 games for the Imps.

Lincoln boss Peter Jackson, who is currently recuperating after treatment for throat cancer, released three other vastly experienced players on Tuesday.

Between them, Marriott, Adie Moses, Gary Croft and Mark Stallard totalled more than 1,700 career appearances between them.
