Granville pleased for O's youth

Leyton Orient's new defender Danny Granville says he has been impressed by the young English players at the club.

The 33-year-old told BBC London 94.9: "There's a lot of youth at the club and a lot of good players. Personally I've been impressed with the young lads.

"A club like Orient helps bring through young English players and give them a chance because you can get overlooked.

"The Premier League teams can just buy talent, so it's good to see young players given a chance," he added.

The former Chelsea and Crystal Palace player admitted he is excited about starting the season with a new club.

"You just want it to go as well as possible and I'd love to get off to a good start.

"It's quite a tricky one with Hereford being newly promoted so the pressure's on us as it's a home game, so we want a good start.

"We'll be buzzing if we can get the three points," Granville concluded.
