Leyton Orient boss Martin Ling has revealed that Simon Dawkins might not be fit for the start of the season.
The 20-year-old, who is on loan from Tottenham, injured his ankle in Wednesday's 5-1 defeat against them.
When asked if Dawkins would be fit for the start of the season, Ling told BBC London 94.9: "If I was a betting man I would say no.
"Early information is two or three weeks which I'll take after seeing him going off on a stretcher."
Jason Demetriou gave Orient the lead but Tottenham Hotspur hit back in the second half.
Darren Bent hit his second hat-trick in the space of three days, while there were also goals for Aaron Lennon and a first for the club for Luka Modric.
Leyton Orient begin their season with a home game against Hereford on Saturday 9 August.
