Leicester City centre-half Jack Hobbs is poised to leave the club and join another Championship outfit on loan.
Hobbs was player of the season playing for former manager Nigel Pearson last term, but has not always been first choice under Sven-Goran Eriksson.
And Eriksson says Hobbs, 22, can go out on loan if the Foxes seal a loan deal for Chelsea defender Jeffrey Bruma.
Eriksson told BBC Radio Leicester: "He is young and a big, big talent so we want him to play."
Hull City - who are managed by Pearson - look a likely destination as the Tigers, who last month signed another former Fox Matt Fryatt, are looking to strengthen their defence.
Hobbs has started 23 league games this season but the arrival of Sol Bamba has increased competition at the Walkers Stadium.
And if Bruma signs then former Liverpool player Hobbs would move further down the pecking order.
Eriksson added: "If another defender comes in we are very keen that [Hobbs] goes out playing.
"I'm quite sure he wants to do that as well; he is young and he should play football."
