Fazackerley joined the backroom staff at Huddersfield in December 2008
New Leicester City manager Sven-Goran Eriksson has appointed Huddersfield Town coach Derek Fazackerley as part of his backroom staff.
Fazackerley, who worked with the former England boss at Manchester City, has joined as an assistant at the Walkers.
Huddersfield manager Lee Clark told his club website he was sad Fazackerley had gone but said he had made a "massive contribution" since joining in 2008.
"When you have good staff, they will be courted by other clubs," Clark added.
"Derek felt joining a club in the Championship and teaming up with Sven-Goran Eriksson again was a good move.
"I am disappointed but we move on and we wish Derek all the best."
Fazackerley has a wealth of coaching and scouting experience, and lists Blackburn Rovers and Manchester City among his former clubs
He was also part of then England manager Kevin Keegan's coaching team during the Euro 2000 campaign.
