Leicester City have signed Sunderland striker Martyn Waghorn for a fee that could rise to £3m.
The 20-year-old scored 12 goals for the Foxes during a season-long loan at the Championship club last term and was a popular figure with the fans.
Black Cats manager Steve Bruce had been eager to keep Waghorn in his squad.
But with Sunderland signing Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan on transfer deadline day, Bruce was prepared to allow Waghorn to leave permanently.
Waghorn had also been linked with a move to join former Foxes boss Nigel Pearson at Hull City.
