Tom Kennedy says Leicester City switch was easy

Leicester City's new signing Tom Kennedy said his decision to move to the Foxes was an easy one.

The 24-year-old left-back has joined Leicester from Rochdale as a free transfer on a three-year deal.

Kennedy told the club website: "I'd met with a few clubs but I told my agent this is where I wanted to play.

"It was a pretty straightforward decision in the end. The other clubs were good but when Leicester City come calling you don't turn them down."

Kennedy, who helped Rochdale to promotion to League One, said he hopes he can help the Foxes bounce back from their heartbreaking play-off semi-final defeat.

He said: "Before going up with Rochdale, we lost in the play-off final in 2008 and the semi-finals a year later, so I know what it takes to pick yourself up after a disappointment.

"You don't rest on your laurels just because you've made the play-offs, you push on again in the next season and have the belief that you can get up."

Kennedy is a former Bury trainee and made more than 150 first-team appearances for the Shakers before joining Rochdale on a free transfer.
