Preston North End defender Neill Collins is hoping for a permanent move to Leeds United after completing a successful loan spell at Elland Road.
Collins, 26, is contracted at Deepdale until 2013 but the Scot has been told he can leave.
Collins told BBC Radio Leeds that having helped United win promotion, he is desperately keen to play for the Whites in the Championship.
He said: "Hopefully we're not far away from something happening."
"My agent will speak with (Leeds United manager) Simon Grayson and we'll find out where things lie. The good thing is Preston are looking to sell me. As long as it happens I'll be happy.
"I know I'm on the transfer list and I'm looking to move on. I had a great time at Leeds. I loved it and fell in love with the club and want more of it."
