McAllister's side are battling in two cup competitions
Leeds United manager Gary McAllister has targeted a good run in the FA Cup this season.
United will take on League One rivals Northampton Town on Elland Road in the first round on Friday night.
"We've not done bad in the cups - we're still in the Carling Cup and we want to get confidence off the back of a decent FA Cup run as well.
"I always feel it's a good occasion on a night game at Elland Road," McAllister told BBC Radio Leeds.
Friday's match is followed five days later by the fourth round of the Carling Cup, and Leeds will go to Championship side Derby County after the Rams' 4-1 win at Brighton on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, former United defender Ian Harte, now a free agent, has been training with the club and played in a behind-closed-doors game against Nottingham Forest on Tuesday.
