Like McAllister, the Angola international defender is out of contract at the end of the season.

McAllister told BBC Radio Leeds: "My contract doesn't go beyond May at the moment but my advice and recommendation is to keep him.

"He's a first-class player and a good man to have around the football club."

United have not lost a game since the 30-year-old returned to the side after the Africa Cup of Nations in February.
