Five groups are in the race to take over Kidderminster
Barry Norgrove feels Harriers need investment if they are to progress
Kidderminster chairman Barry Norgrove says there are five separate groups looking to buy the club.
Norgrove says things have been delayed due to some applicants late entry into the bidding.
"We're having meeting with various parties, as there are some individuals interested while there are some consortiums looking to take it on.
"We have had two fresh people who have come up this week," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester.
Barry Norgrove feels the club needs a fresh injection of cash to enable to it go forward and has himself offered to step down as chairman to accommodate a potential takeover.
The tragic death of his fellow director Gordon Howard in a house fire in August has also been a factor in his decision.
We have to ensure they will not mess about with the club and perhaps not take it in the direction in which we would like it to go

"I have been here for ten years and have done all I possibly can, and we have had some success along the way.
"But I just feel now that with my own business struggling and with the tragic loss of Gordon Howard, I am not in a position to take Kidderminster Harriers forward in the way I would like.
"We need fresh investment to get where we want to be at the higher end of the table and I just do not have the finances to do that and I feel I am holding the club back," he added.
Barry Norgrove says he and his vice-chairman Neil Savory have long family connections with the Aggborough club and so they are determined to make sure it is sold to the most appropriate bidders.
"We have to be sure they will carry the football club on into the future.
"We have to ensure they will not mess about with the club and perhaps not take in the direction in which we would like it to go," he added.
The Harriers chairman confirmed to BBC Hereford and Worcester that the club is in dispute with HMRC over a tax bill.
But he insists the situation is manageable and they are in discussions with the tax authorities as they are querying the amount they are said to owe.
"There's a payment we are making and it is all being sorted out but we don't agree with the amount so we are talking to the tax people," he said.
"But I don't think there is an immediate threat to the club and we are looking to get it sorted."
