Kidderminster Harriers have signed defender Ollie Thorne from Blue Square Bet rivals Newport County.

The 20-year-old's contract with the Welsh side was cancelled to enable him to move to Aggborough.

Manager Steve Burr told the Harriers website:"He has no gripes with Newport about not being involved because of how well they've started the season.

"He is desperate to play football and is keen to come here. He is definitely someone who will make us stronger."

Thorne, who began his career with MK Dons, joined Newport from Forest Green during the summer.

But after he was left out of the side in the opening weeks of the season, County boss Dean Holdsworth agreed to his release.
