Kettering Town manager Lee Harper wants a new striker

Harper's men are still targeting a Blue Square Premier play-off place

Kettering Town manager Lee Harper has confirmed his desire to strengthen the squad with a new striker.

Harper's men climbed to seventh place in Blue Square Premier thanks to Saturday's 2-0 victory at Barrow.

"We still feel we need a big target man, and there's a boy who's extremely rapid we may well look to sign," Harper told BBC Radio Northampton.

"But there are not a lot of pennies so we need to see what we can do and manage it the best we can," he added.

"We know it needs to be addressed. But the lads involved with the squad at the moment are all in it together. So if they get in they stay in."

Kettering will look to maintain their challenge for a play-off place at home to Grays Athletic on Saturday (1500 GMT).
