Poppies need more desire - Cooper

Mark Cooper
Cooper's side have games in hand on all the teams above them

Kettering boss Mark Cooper wants more commitment from his players as he looks to climb the Blue Square Premier table.

"The only thing that's missing at the moment is that bit of desire," Cooper told BBC Radio Northampton after Tuesday's 0-0 draw at Mansfield.

"We need to see that willingness to risk getting four or five stitches in an eyebrow to go for a diving header."

"I want the players to put their bodies on the line to get on the end of something and score a goal for us."

The Poppies are 10th in the table, with games in hand over all the teams above them.

Their next game is at home to Torquay on Saturday.
