Norris is set to be out of contract at the end of the season
Ipswich Town are expecting captain David Norris to be out for two weeks with a knee and ankle injury.
A scan has revealed the 29-year-old midfielder's problem, which he picked up in Saturday's draw with Barnsley, is not as serious as it could have been.
"The prognosis is he's tweaked his ankle and knee ligaments, but not as bad as first feared," boss Paul Jewell told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"Hopefully Chuck will be back in contention within a fortnight."
Meanwhile Town will assess the condition of fellow midfielder Grant Leadbitter who was forced off with a tight hamstring 79 minutes into Tuesday's 6-0 win over Doncaster.
Colin Healy covered Norris' absence effectively at the Keepmoat Stadium and Jewell was also able to give new signing Andy Drury almost half-an-hour of football.
"Colin's a good honest professional and you can see the amount of work he put in along with everybody else," said Jewell.
"I thought Andy was terrific when he came on, it's easy coming on when you're winning 4-0 isn't it?
"But I thought he showed touches of real quality and class and slowly and shortly he's getting used to League football."
