Ipswich Town's Luke Hyam out for five weeks

Hyam has made 11 starts in his first full season with Ipswich

Ipswich Town midfielder Luke Hyam has torn a hamstring and will be out for up to five weeks.

The 19-year-old picked up the injury in Saturday's 3-1 defeat by Barnsley.

Boss Roy Keane is also without veteran left-back Mark Kennedy, whose own hamstring problem will sideline him for up to three weeks.

And centre-halves Darren O'Dea and Gareth McAuley have also been ruled out for the weekend clash with Hull City at the very least.

O'Dea, 23, has not played for Town since undergoing a knee operation in October.

The on-loan Celtic defender stepped up his recovery by playing in the Republic of Ireland's 2-1 loss to Norway on Wednesday, but tweaked a hamstring just over an hour into the match.

McAuley, 30, has been unable to shake off an Achilles injury, but captain David Norris has an outside chance of returning from the ankle problem that has kept him out for two weeks.
