Roy Keane accepts Ipswich Town fans' grumbles

Ipswich Town boss Roy Keane has fully accepted the criticism of supporters after a fourth defeat in five games.

Saturday's 2-0 defeat at Nottingham Forest drew chants of "sort it out" from some among the Town faithful.

Keane told BBC Radio Suffolk: "When the fans sing that I agree with them, because it is up to me to sort it out. If I don't there's trouble.

"I enjoy that responsibility, I share the fans' frustration but we need to step back and say we had a bad week."

He added: "Sometimes I wish I could go out and play but it's up to me to sort out."

After an impressive start to the season, which saw Ipswich undefeated in their first five Championship outings and up to second in the table after seven games, Keane's side now find themselves down in 14th.

But the Irishman is remaining upbeat, focusing on Tuesday's League Cup tie with Northampton and Saturday's league visit of Millwall.

"As much as we're disappointed with the past week, if we win tomorrow we're in a quarter final and we're still only three points off the play-offs," he said.

"Let's get the balance right and try and look at it as the glass half full rather than half empty."
