Defenders need to chip in with goals - Damien Delaney

Ipswich Town centre-half Damien Delaney says he and his fellow defenders need to weigh in with more goals.

Ipswich have drawn more than half of their Championship matches this season, scoring just 37 goals in 33 games.

And Delaney told BBC Suffolk: "You can't just point the finger at the attacking players. I've not chipped in with any goals this season.

"Gareth McAuley has only got three and Liam Rosenior has only got one so the blame lies with all of us."

Delaney added: "The lads help us out defensively in terms of closing down and coming back to defend set pieces which makes our job easier.

"We do look at ourselves and know that we have to chip in more often."

Ipswich travel to Blackpool this Saturday (Saturday, 6 March, 1500 GMT).
