Ipswich manager Roy Keane takes blame for poor form

Ipswich manager Roy Keane has accepted responsibility for the team slipping back into the bottom three in the Championship table.

Keane told BBC Suffolk: "It's no good me just looking and pointing at the players, I've got to look at myself."

The Town boss admits further poor results could cost him his job.

"I live in the real world - some managers lose their job when they are getting results so to think I couldn't lose my job is crazy," he said.

Ahead of two crucial away games against Sheffield Wednesday and Scunthorpe, Keane has praised supporters who finally seemed to lose patience in the wake of Ipswich's 3-1 defeat by bottom side Peterborough on Tuesday.

He said: "I think I've been very lucky. I think the Ipswich fans have been unbelievably patient with me and very tolerant, particularly with the start we had and even the late goals we've conceded, but I think that all went out of the window the other night.

"I do believe things can change for us, I do believe we have enough quality and enough characters in the dressing room to go and get results over the next few weeks and try and change the supporters mindsets if we can."
