Guinea international defender Kamil Zayatte has left Hull City and moved to France for family reasons.

The 25-year-old, who signed in the 2008/2009 season from Young Boys of Berne and made 71 league appearances, had 18 months left on his contract.

But the Tigers hope to sign Tunisian international midfielder Tijani Belaid.

BBC Radio Humberside reports the 23-year-old, who is in dispute with current club Slavia Prague, has trained and held talks with Hull.

A possible complication in the deal is whether Slavia Prague are due a fee. Hull's head of football operations Adam Pearson said: "It's always difficult when a player is in dispute with his club to ascertain whether he is a 'Bosman' or not, but if he is it's very likely he'll come into the squad this week."

Belaid, who was born in France, started his career at Inter Milan and has had a loan spell at PSV Eindhoven. He has made 19 appearances for Tunisia, scoring three goals, and been at Slavia Prague since 2008.

Pearson said the club wished Zayatte well.

"The decision has been taken on compassionate grounds and in the best interests of the player and Hull City," he explained.

"It's not often a player walks away from such a large contract, and we've kept his registration in case there's any compensation down the line."

Zayatte has given up a salary believed to be in the order of £20,000 a week.
