Hull City striker Craig Fagan will be out for four months after undergoing a hip operation.
The 28-year-old has made only five appearances for the Championship club this season and has not featured since the 4-0 defeat at Burnley in September.
The Tigers opted for surgery after Fagan failed to respond to physiotherapy and injections.
Meanwhile, fellow striker Caleb Folan has undergone exploratory surgery on a knee problem.
The 28-year-old was hurt in the 1-1 draw with Barnsley on 30 October.
The Hull City club website said the operation produced results that were "very positive" but it is not know how long Folan will be out for.
