Midfielder George Boateng targets new Hull City deal

Boateng has made 33 appearances for Hull since joining from Middlesbrough

Hull City midfielder George Boateng thinks he needs to change his style of play if he is to stay a Premier League player when his deal ends this summer.

The former Holland player, 34, sees his future as a holding midfielder.

The Ghana-born veteran told BBC Radio Humberside: "I've started to think, how can I stay at this level. I'm thinking, do I need to alter my game?

"The way I played against Everton is probably the way I need to be playing to stay in the Premier League."

But the former Coventry, Aston Villa and Middlesbrough enforcer has revealed that he has not had any talks about a new deal.

He said: "No-one has said anything because as you can imagine, the club has bigger much more important issues.

"For me, at my age and in my situation, if I want to get a new contract either here or somewhere else I need to be playing and prove my worth and at the moment that's simply not a fact because I haven't played enough games."
