Hull City will not be making bids for either Sunderland midfielder Dean Whitehead or defender Paul McShane.
Republic of Ireland international McShane spent part of last season on loan with the Tigers and they enquired about Whitehead earlier in the year.
But Hull chairman Paul Duffen told BBC Look North: "They are not players we are trying to acquire at this point.
"In the middle of the park we're looking forward to Jimmy Bullard coming back," he added.
Duffen refused to be drawn on the date for Bullard's return from a knee injury but said he hoped it could be as early as September.
