Tigers hopeful of Cousin return

Hull City are hopeful that striker Daniel Cousin will be back training by next weekend as he prepares to undergo minor knee surgery on Friday.

The 31-year-old Gabon international missed Saturday's 2-2 draw with West Brom at the KC Stadium.

Tigers boss Phil Brown told BBC Radio Humberside: "He needs a trim on his meniscus [cartilage], I'm hoping that he'll be back in 10 days."

The former Rangers man will miss Saturday's game with Chelsea.

However, record signing Jimmy Bullard could play at Stamford Bridge if he recovers from a knee injury in time.

Brown said: "The swelling has gone down completely in his knee, we're in the hands of the physios but he's still got a chance for the weekend."
