Hull City are hopeful that striker Daniel Cousin will be back training by next weekend as he prepares to undergo minor knee surgery on Friday.
The 31-year-old Gabon international missed Saturday's 2-2 draw with West Brom at the KC Stadium.
Tigers boss Phil Brown told BBC Radio Humberside: "He needs a trim on his meniscus [cartilage], I'm hoping that he'll be back in 10 days."
The former Rangers man will miss Saturday's game with Chelsea.
