Huddersfield Town manager Stan Ternent launched a scathing attack on his players after Saturday's 2-1 home defeat to Tranmere Rovers.
He told the club's official website: "I'm totally embarrassed by that performance. We beat ourselves.
"They are spineless. They haven't got the courage of their own convictions.
"We'll be training every day God sends us next week. I'm so angry, I can't put it into words."
Town's third defeat of the season saw them slip back into the League One relegation zone, and they have yet to win at home in the league.
Ternent said: "It's not my fault, it's the players' fault.
The supporters are 100 per cent within their rights to expect more than that

"I've stuck up for them before, but I can't if they haven't got the strength to perform in front of a crowd like that against a side that came here expecting to be beaten.
"It's the players that don't go tight when they should, that don't pass the ball when they should, that don't cross the ball and don't defend so don't be blaming managers for it.
"The supporters are 100 per cent within their rights to expect more than that and I'm going to do something about it."
