Defender Chris Lucketti has returned to Huddersfield Town for a second spell after agreeing a free transfer from Sheffield United.
United boss Kevin Blackwell told BBC Radio Sheffield the two-year deal was a good move for the 36-year-old.
"At his age it was a too good an opportunity to turn down," he said. "Plus they were guaranteeing him first-team football.
"Chris has been a great servant to the football club," Blackwell added.
Lucketti will be reunited with manager Stan Ternent, who was in charge at Bury when Lucketti was sold to Huddersfield in 1999.
He went on to make 76 appearances for the Terriers before a 750,000 move to Preston North End in 2001.
Ternent has immediately made the veteran defender Huddersfield's club captain for the forthcoming season.
