Lee Wootton wants Histon boss David Livermore to play
Wootton has featured 14 times for Histon this season
Histon midfielder Lee Wootton has called on boss David Livermore to put his boots on and get back on the field.
Livermore played for Barnet last season but, after suffering a knee injury, decided to go into management.
Wootton, 19, told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "His advice, and things he knows, you can't buy that.
"I think with him having a career at places like Millwall, starting at Arsenal, his experience on the pitch would be a massive boost to the team."
Livermore, who took over at the Glass World after John Beck quit the club, is still only 30 years old and stated when he took the job, "if I need to play I will".
Coming in after John Beck I think he did fantastically well he's done an amazing job

And while he has yet to put himself into the first team, the former Millwall midfielder did play 90 minutes in a reserve game against Walsham-le-Willows last week.
The Stutes are unbeaten in their last five league outings and Wootton, who is on a season-long loan from Dagenham & Redbridge, believes Livermore's management methods are starting to have an impact.
"From the outside looking in I wouldn't have thought this is his first job," he said.
"He's handled things off the pitch, especially with the board, very well.
"Coming in after John Beck I think he did fantastically well, we're on a five-match unbeaten run, he's done an amazing job."
